This week, I want to share how Human Design has been a revelation for me. It has confirmed so much of what I felt but couldn't articulate about myself. It explained why I could see the path so clearly for others but found it difficult to apply the same clarity to my own journey.

As I share my journey with Human Design in this Monday Musings, I hope to offer you insights into how it might illuminate your path too. Whether you're seeking to understand your gifts, looking at how to be supported in your business, or simply curious about what makes you uniquely you, I believe there's something in Human Design for everyone, especially as a business owner.

What is Human Design

Human Design is a complex system that provides a framework for understanding human behaviour, personality, and potential. It is a tool for self-discovery and personal development (who doesn't want to learn more about themselves?), and how we are designed to engage with the world and make decisions. Everyone is born with a unique design and a specific purpose, and understanding this design can help you live in alignment with your true nature.

My Human Design Experiment

I've been experimenting with Human Design since I launched my business four years ago! And that's exactly what Human Design is, an experiment. There is tonnes of information out there but it all comes back to how you resonate with it and how you experiment with it.

A Real-Life Anecdote: Before Human Design, I wondered why I was so different. I didn't understand why I could keep going and others couldn't. I believed everything I knew how to do, everyone else could do it too. Friends would always look to me for support, help them understand their emotions and advise them on their next steps in life, but struggled to do it for myself. I found it difficult to have a long-term vision for my business and put pressure on myself to know what it was... when I was never meant to.

The Journey: It all became clear when I studied Human Design. All 9 centres defined explained the consistency and certainty in my chart. My defined Head and Ajna confirmed how I could map out an execution plan before anyone finished talking. Channel 18-56 showed me why I challenged people on their values and desires to understand if that's what they truly want. Channel 42-53, explained why I'm obsessed with living a cyclical life and bringing projects to completion.

I could go on... but what's epic about all of this is how it's allowed me to understand my gifts (and shadows. There is no gift without shadow), and utilise them in business with my clients.

When you embark on a Human Design journey, you uncover some amazing things about yourself, and some not-so-great things that allow you to course-correct, decondition and use to your advantage.

The Lesson: Human Design has validated why I do things the way I do and has given me the biggest permission slip to build an aligned business. Not only have I used this system to decondition myself (even as a fully defined 6/2 emotional Manifesting Generator, I have experienced conditioning), but it supports the way I market my business, attract soul-aligned clients and stay in my own lane.

Human Design adds a layer to business, understanding how best to communicate with our clients, supporting them in living their design and ensuring we're delegating tasks that light up team members. I love being able to utilise this tool, along with a few others I'm interested in going beneath the surface and supporting our clients more deeply.

How We Support Our Clients

Working with me and my team of Generators can be particularly beneficial for business owners, not only with sacral authority but with energy types who are non-sacral (Projectors, Manifestors, and Reflectors). In Human Design, non-sacral types have their own unique ways of working and managing energy, and an OBM can help tailor business operations to these needs.

Working with a variety of business owners has allowed me to understand the best way to support them in their CEO role, and they vary massively based on energy type.

For our Generator Clients

It's essential for our Generator clients to be working on things that light them up, therefore we support them by taking over the operational and managerial tasks that often drain their energy. By handling day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and project management, we enable sacral types to focus on what they do best, utilising their boundless energy in productive and satisfying ways. This partnership not only optimises business efficiency and growth but also ensures that sacral types maintain their energy and enthusiasm, which is key to their success and fulfilment on their entrepreneurial journey.

For our Projector Clients

Our Projector clients excel when they can focus on strategically guiding and directing. While they continue to strategise, we can handle the day-to-day management, allowing our clients to concentrate on big-picture thinking. When it comes to managing opportunities, Projectors are usually (not always) waiting for an invitation to support and help people, therefore we can manage those invitations and opportunities, ensuring our clients engage with the most energetically correct ones. I know how important it is to ensure our Projector clients have schedules created that allow for rest and deep work phases. Ensuring this is in place when we first start working together really empowers our clients to live according to their design and sets our partnership up for success.

For our Manifestors Clients

Manifestors are here to initiate but not necessarily to manage the execution. As Online Business Managers, we're naturally wired to take over after the initiation phase to manage the project, allowing our clients to move on to the next inspiration. Our Manifestor clients are here to inform, therefore we encourage our clients to over-communicate. Managing communication within the business is something we do for Manifestor clients, ensuring their visions are understood and properly executed by the team. Setting up systems that allow our clients to work at their own pace (because we know they can come in like a tornado when that inspiration hits) and flow through the infrastructure with their creative energy. It allows them to not get bogged down by micromanagement or fumbling around in the backend.

For our Reflectors Clients

We have yet to partner with a Reflector, however, I do know a few Reflector business owners, so I'd love to share how we would support the 1% of the population.

Reflectors are highly sensitive to their environment, so I would support our clients by ensuring they have environmental harmony, and that the business environment is helpful to their wellbeing. Given Reflectors’ need for variety, I would help design a project rotation that keeps them engaged and leverages their unique perspective. When it comes to decision-making, Reflectors need 29 days to make major decisions. I would manage timelines to accommodate this, ensuring there’s no rush in decision-making.

Human Design Success

Our clients come to us because they value maturity, experience, empathy and professionalism. They're looking for strategic business advice, optimised operations and off-hand the management of their business. They value freedom and know their business can built with systems, automation and self-sufficiency. They're eager to be heard while being held accountable and supported by aligned action-takers.

Build A Business By Design

In a recent OBM On-Demand Session, the one I shared with you two weeks ago, I received an update since she applied some of the Human Design elements I highlighted during our session, and here are the results in just a few weeks!

Business Updates & Behind the Scenes

We've had lots happening behind the scenes! Mainly delivering audits to our new associates, onboarding at OBM Associates and introducing to our new clients.

Last week, we kicked off with a new client and their introductory strategy session, highlighting the priorities for the year ahead; reducing operational costs, increasing profit margins, identifying team roles, and launching new products while keeping in mind that we're potentially selling the business in the future.

In another client introductory strategy session, we discussed rebranding and exploring a business model that aligns with the client (yes, we are using Human Design) while they embark upon a 5 year RV road trip around the US.

In other sessions, we're looking at atmospheric events, implementing automated lead acquisition funnels and passive product business models.

Where I've Been

Yoga is still my number one priority at the moment, developing my snowboarding skills and preparing to come out of the cave this month!

It's still nurture season so I'm still laying low, although I popped out on Friday evening to see a favourite DJ of mine, Romare, play a live set in Sheffield.

He released a track 14 years ago that I absolutely love and still play today - I've waited years to hear it on some seriously loudspeakers. I couldn't believe it when he opened up his set with it, playing it for 10 minutes!

It made my night! Small things :)

I look forward to catching up with you in a couple of weeks. I'll be writing Monday Musings a little earlier as the Monday it gets released, I'll be with my team in London! We're meeting face-to-face for the first time and I am SO excited!
